The Iowa Herpetological Society (IHS) was founded in 1978 and has a long tradition of promoting herpetological education.

At IHS monthly meetings you'll meet people who share an interest in breeding and keeping reptiles and amphibians. IHS members have the best opportunity to get the most current information on caring for reptiles and amphibians in captivity.

As a member of IHS you will benefit in sharing your herp knowledge with the public and other members. Members help promote public education by participating in displays and presentations. We have an annual Christmas Party and Society Picnic.
